I’m an old bloke who loves cleaning up/restoring old cars. I also like going bush, fishing, camping, etc.
So I was recently given a 1996 GQ ST TB4.2e. with 380k on the clock. Vehicle is rust free, straight, runs well on both petrol and LPG.
Plan is to give it a good clean and tidy up wiring, etc. replace all fluids, get a Vic roadworthy, then put on club plates.
First is a compression test to establish if I’ll proceed with the project or just scrap it and sell for parts.
Need to address a leaking exhaust gasket, spongy brakes, a hole in the drivers seat and general flaking of clear coat.
Vehicle has a 2” lift and extractors and should make a great fishing and camping bus.
Apart from the obvious, any thoughts on what I should pay special attention to before the roadworthy check would be appreciated.
Thanks, Don
PS: sorry, but I have already posted one question on the forum.
