So, thought id get on some of the forums and start researching and branching out, first off, the vehicle started life as a RD28 GQ patrol, it wasnt long before it needed a new motor, a second rd28 was thrown in along with a modified pump and bigger turbo, all was swell until a week out from making the trek to the tip of australia, a 3rd motor was needed, at that point the life of being an rd28 was getting pointless, so in went a fairly mild TD42, 215hp was plenty. but only after 8 months without the egt gauge, the motor got hot and grabbed 5 out of 6 liners.
it was then the decision was made to retire the GQ cab, and throw the GU cab on, along with extensive research a motor conversion was chosen. So in place of all the nissan motors, a 6bt 12valve will be taking up new ownership of the engine bay. finishing this build is going to make for a great vehicle when done.
