I've been wondering what I'd do if my 3L CRD dies prematurely or just wears out, I've almost decided that I'd either A - Get a new motor or B - get it rebuilt.

But I'm wondering what others think?

I have no idea on what it would cost for either option, but I am sure both would be cheaper than a new vehicle.

My question is, who do you go to get a new / reconditioned motor? Who do you go to to rebuild a motor?

I've been told that once the 3L gets to around 200,000 the motor starts to go downhill, I'll be at 200,000 in around 2 years.

I really don't want to get rid of the Patrol, coz it's a bloody good truck.

I'm interested to hear other peoples opinions on this. Am I mad?
