    First observation is in also agreeing that no way in the world would I snatch off the tie downs.
    The loads are totally at the wrong angles and I would be very careful winching of them but would use with extreme care if needs be.

    Sooo as far as the recovery point goes...
    Ideally the pin of the bow should go thru the point and the strap to the bow (and Yes, I know some recovery points are manufactured to take the shackle, just talking ideal here).

    If you put the shackle thru the point the odds of a Bow not staying in the correct orientation are pretty high and you gotta remember the rating of a Bow Shackle proportionally reduces if the pull isn't in line and the rating is 50% at 90 degrees.
    Worst case that would drop the bow shackle rating to 1600 Kg, multiply by the design factor and you get 6 to 9 tonnes Breaking Strain roughly.
