GQ TB42 Could loose pre-cleaner to air filter set up contribute to my auto woes?
Hi, I've got a GQ auto on dual fuel. Been having some issues with the auto recently. No lock-up in top gear mainly, causing excessive fuel consumption and running hotter than usual. I do quite a bit of highway driving and have to stay on 90kphto keep things cool and the revs down.
After a few minor drama's, have changed the trans oil/filter and refilled to correct level. Renewed oil cooler hoses. Removed and flushed radiator, renewed hoses and clamps. Cleaned carby and made adjustments neccessary.
Thought I'd remove the air cleaner-snorkel-precleaner assembly to clean and check rubber seals, etc. Found that it was all quite loose, rubber seals perished or missing, clamp on pre-cleaner missing.
Is this a likely contributor to my auto woes? I love this forum, and I've learnt so much since joining up. Thanks to everyone who's been patient when assisting a no-nothing like myself.
