Queens B'day weekend on Donelly's Crk track

Myself & my mate Mark met up at the BP servo at Longwarry turn off on Princes Hwy about 7am on Saturday morning.
Myself in the GU with my 4yr old son & Mark in his GQ with his 5yr old daughter.
It had been very wet the days leading upto the long weekend.

Headed threw Moe, Walhalla, onto Binns rd, then left turn on Springs Rd, then turned left onto Donnellys Crk track.

Donnellys Crk track had sections of the track which had been recently grated the whole way threw. Track was still pretty wet slushy, slippery & muddy, but caused no issues. The 1st of many creek crossing we come across was probably the deepest, short crossing (15m wide maybe) but the bonnet of the GU went under about half way across.
We made a very comfortable camp at Otools flats camping area. Found a nice grass area on the east side of camping area next to Donnellys crk. The camping area had about 12-15 groups of campers, with heaps of room for everybody.

We copped a little rain Saturday night, but we had a good fire roaring, tarp set up, Oztrail canvas tents set up, rain was no proplem. Sunday was morning was very foggy but turned out to be a glorious day. Travelled around on various different tracks during the day, had a bit af a fish, caught 3 small trout (threw back).

Monday morning was another glorious morning. We packed up camp, then travelled onto Flats Track, also recently grated, but was very very steep & quite slippy at times, then it turns into Williamsons Track, with another river crossing towards the end, then followed across to the Thompson Dam wall, had lunch, pumped up tyres then headed home.

All in all had a great relaxing weekend with the kids,
