Forfeit the vacation and got a Patrol, nice to meet you!

Hey everyone,

I'm Darius, from Romania and got my first Patrol y61 (long) (zd30di from 2000) for overlanding and some offroad as we have some nice trails here.
Heard about the issues with this engine so after reading a bunch I already started to order stuff, like boost, egt, water gauges, an oil catch can and a manual boost controller. After they arrive I plan to set them up and also block the EGR and clean the maff, map sensors, throttle body, intake manifold, intercooler and radiator.

Since I haven't driven any "proper" patrols, I guess I'll see some drivability improvements just with these.
Then I guess I'll have to upgrade de exhaust, maybe intercooler and get an ECU Remap.

Nice one mate. I can see by the second pic your intercooler has a hole in it too...

I feel your pain! Patrols are super rare where I live so despite driving ok, I am never truly sure if it is running 100% to its design or maybe just 70% good. I have nothing to compare.

Keep on cleaning, fixing, tweaking and let us know of the progress!
