I'm waiting on a new bracket, but once I'm really to do this a wheel alignment won't be necessary, right?
I'm only putting the steering wheel back in is original position, not changing anything else.

Yeah correct John. Your not touching the tie rod, which is where you adjust your toe in and toe out for wheel alignment....

    Cheers mate.
And thanks again for the D link.
The bracket that's on there now is to suit a series 2 & 3 right?
I'll leave it aside as a forum freebie.

I'm not 100℅ sure how much out the steering wheel was, maybe a spline or 2. The guy took it off and refitted it so it was in the centre.
Is there any way of knowing the steering box is back in the centre.

You need to count the amount of turns from left to right, or vice versa then halve it. Say if its 8 turns from lock to lock, you know you need four turns from the centre to left and right. So at full lock count back to 4. Then your steering should be centre. So if this is right, your steering wheel should not be centre. Then you adjust the drag link to suit. Might be a bit tricky as the wheel has been moved on the spline though. But I know thats how you get your steering box centred....
Theres probably a procedure in the online manual somewhere....
Edit : Just found in the Gregorys manual for 1998 models its 3.4 turns lock to lock, and 1999 on it 4.3 turns.
It also says the factory length of the drag link from joint to joint is 1123.4 + or - 1mm.
    If this helps.

    Thanks Mark.

    Yes that does make sense.

Don't think the the steering wheel is going to be much of a problem. I want to get the steering box back in the centre, then I will adjust the wheel via the draglink.
Will need to see what is the number of turns for a series 1, may be different again.

    Cheers for the info..
