This forum is awsome, the more I keep looking the more things I find that I have questions about.

Because of what happened with Kris (getting his bike stolen) I have been a bit anal about security with the 4bee.
I looked into Sat nav GPS, alarms etc then the next logical step is insurance. (I have calmed down a bit now!!)

This post is exactly what I was looking for as I wont to insure the truck for agreed value. I down loaded the quote request and will use it.

    Thanks heap guys.

I found TCIS to be useless as well! Because of my age they wanted to charge me $2800 for comp insurance! Ended up going with AAMI, on first quote they would only insure for $12K, however after detailing all the accessories on the vehicle i managed to get it up to $17,200 coverage for $1,400 a year - I originally wanted $19,500 coverage, but that's the best they would do.

I have just requested a quote through Affinity Insuraqnce. They have a new 4 wheel drive section.

    Give it a try.

I had the same issue with our 18 year old Troopy. We paid about $3k more than the highest book price & wanted to insure it for what we paid, agreed value. However Shannons were the only company who would insure it for what we wanted - expensive premium though. Just insured the 5 year old GU for twice the value of the Troopy (agreed value again) with another company (APIA) & the premium was close to half that for the Troopy. Crazy!

    BUMP!

How does everyone go insuring their 4WD's on tracks?

Main reason I haven't been insured for years is because I couldn't get anyone to cover me on Tracks. RACV became really sketchy when I told them I 4WD on tracks and that I had modifications to the vehicle. I was basically told they wouldn't cover an accident out in the bush.

Do you guys/gals tell them what kind of driving you do? Do you actually know if you're covered if you roll your car out on a track? Or even hit a tree or something similar?

    Be interested to know!

AAMI cover me so long as it's State/National Park, gazetted road, and/or private park.

I had a reasonably priced quote from AAMI through the online quote system.. not too long ago actually.

Might call them up and ask properly. Sounds like a good deal.

Sounds good BigRig.. so is the Patrol covered in the case of a write off (god forbid) on named tracks? Or is that only on bitumen?
