    drivers side electric window

Hi all the GQ drivers window stopped working. when you press the button to wind the window down nothing happens and then if you press up you can hear the motor continually turning until you switch the car off. I tested the motor by disconnecting the passenger one and replacing it with the drivers one and its working fine. The only thing I have noticed is the gear allows you to turn it on the drivers and not on the passenger.

Does this sound like I'm up for an actuator or a replacement amp module?

the gear inside the winding mechanism has stripped mate....(not the plastic gear for the motor )..check by using a hand winder on it from anything and if it will turn and the window doesn't move then that is it....I took the winding mechanism off the slides ...drilled a hole through it in the round section where the gear is inside ....the hole I drilled was the same size as a 2" nail...I didn't drill it right through....I cut the nail off to the same length as the hole and hammered it in with a firm fit as a codder pin and also using super glue....I did this to two of them .....all assuming it is the internal gear in the winding mechanism that grabs the teeth on the arched arm ....
the one thing wrong with middle age ...is knowing you will grow out of it !

Motor is fine, tried it with the passenger side and it had no issues winding down and up
