how to fit new steering damper?

    Hi guys,

I have a new steering damper and want to know how I go about fitting it. It is for a 89 gq and and the original goes from the chassis to the drag link and is eye/eye. The new amarda is pin/pin and goes from a superior panhard (which I have) to the original drag link. I have a bracket for the old drag link but do I need to cut the old one off and where to fit the bracket? do I pull out the damper halfway or is there a measurement?
    Thanks Rob

Turn it all the way to the lock where the damper will be at compression then fit it (or extension) whatever you find easiest.
