He was that good and England made some stupid decisions like bowling short and wide to him. He apparently is quite a good batsman and batted up the order in state cricket

I really wanted the guy to get 101,then get out. Felt for him getting out on 98 to be honest.
Great fightback by the Aussies, I don`t get why people over here are so shocked,last thing you lot do is give in and not fight,so not a shock to me. Hell, even when you had a great team, we could get you down to 150 for 5 or 6, then Gilchrist would come in and score a ton plus.
It is now official, we are not quite so sh@t at cricket as we were! Rugby Union is a different matter.

I could not go to bed until he was out, at first I felt bad for him not making 100 but then I saw the smile on his face and the standing ovation he got from the crowd, making 98 was a fantastic effort.
