Whats the best way to join 2 snatch straps together if required .
Using a rolled up news paper or mag. Try to avoid sticks and homemade things .
In the event a strap breaks you have a missile .Can't put a pic here ATM either.
Never tie together, basically thread one eye through the other and use rolled up newspaper
to lock in place.

Just to clarify - the rolled up newspaper/magazine is used to stop the two straps binding on each other and getting stuck together.
If you ever try it without the paper - you will find that the two straps almost become welded.
I've done it and in the end we had to cut the oldest strap away from the newest to salvage the new strap. Old one was destroyed
