What scams to watch out for????????

Help Needed!!, I'me selling my dads car over the net for him, got it on australian carsales, Gumtree etc. Been getting heaps (7 actually) emails from people saying i want the car i'me on an oilrig ,want it for my dad, Im'e on a boat near tasmania blah blah. Now they want to pay via paypal and require my paypal email address,and have an agent or someone to come and pick it up!!! I rang paypal and they said its safe to give the email address to pay into via them, Then they said to ring them once payment has been made to see if its in. Is this some type of scam!!?? to get details etc. I'de never give bank details out!. Cant work it out dunno wether to say yes to one of them, Dunno, Anyone heard of this before???

They can't get your bank details from your paypal account, so the way I figure it is if they are willing to pay site unseen, an you get the funds BEFORE you hand over the keys, then the onus is on them ... always need to use caution, but what else can you do??

iF YOU HAVE RECEIVED 7 EMAILS ON ALONG THE SAME LINES I WOULD SRONGLY SUGGEST IT IS A SCAM.
DONT KNOW HOW BUT DONT DO IT.

I've heard of similar scenarios and I wouldn't reply if I were you. I believe they are scams.

I agree. I've heard of the "I'm on an oil rig" scam many times.

Thanks fella's I think i'll leave it! Another thing was all there email addresses were gmail ones! Its just another free one like hotmail etc. but weird!!! Bloody hell one of them offered 34 grand be spewin if he was lagit!! LOL

Man if you believe half of whats on the net youll get done,if they truely want the car they would call and make arrangments to see test drive and pay for it
if its by cheque dont let it go till its cleard by the bank

Sorry - let me rephrase - everything I said above EXCEPT if it's through gmail - I don't care how much they try to clean up their act, gmail is a scammers paradise.

Scam, was looking at a GQ for a mate today and the seller had the same thing happen to him, enquired more about it and they (the so called buyer) had to receive $800 dollars before they would pay him, I told him to ignore those sort of scumbags.
