Blocking EGR on a 2.8

CAn any tell me what else I need to do if I block off my EGR, I have made the plate but am unsure if damage would be caused if I do the mod without doing other required mods as well.

loosen the bolts, drop the plate in. thats it

Yeah do the butterfly valve on the intercooler to.
Was looking for The Ferrett's guide but can't find it
