its rd28t......did a search after the incident and found that there's quite a few people saying the harmonic balancer tends to fail on rd28t why didnt i see this earlier :(
unluckily my gq breakdown the fourth day of our trip but luckily we aint in the real middle of nowhere yet. took out the harmonic balancer which looks like new and the crank looks like this...
found a lot of thread about changing springs and shocks but im only changing the front and rear shocks its just bolt in bolt out with the car sitting normally on the ground right? no need to jack up...
just bought a uhf cb radio it comes with an inline fuse i want to wire it directly to battery so that i can use it even when ignition is off. but im completely new to electric stuff so im comfused...
when he told me 16 hundred i said '600?' but he confirmed its 1600 thats when all my questions suddenly rush in...

mechanic doing pre-tour check gave me at least 4-5k quote for making my 96 gq 2.8 safe to go on touring (not that i wont pay 5k for my own safety but there r questions...)

the body lift only altered the relative position with the engine but not the air intake box i think? so any snorkel that fit the standard truck will probably fit a body lifted one without issue is...
i see i see i would probably do the shocks for now then will just change the springs and mount as soon as i finish the trip and save some money.

hi guys the problem i am having now is like this: my gq have some leak from the shocks and i am looking to replace them before my journey. if the gq is stock i wouldnt mind adding a few hundred bucks...
ive been thinking about that over and over too just struggling between doing it or keeping the coins to spend on the way.
