As good as they are I'll rather have something like a Bluetooth scan gauge. Got one for the wife's commo, but just need to find s something that suits a 1997 model.
All seems to be running good now.
After changing the radiator I was still getting slightly high temps when in traffic or just idling for long periods of time. The new radiator came with a radiator cap I thought I'll keep this aside as a spare if I ever need one. Put it on last night and Temps a much better nothing over 88 degrees and no more green dips in the floor.
Still would like to work out if the electric fan comes on at 90 or 100 degrees and why Mines was coming on at 96.....
At least your fan comes on, good to see another thing ticked off.
You've had the gauges in a few days now, thumbs up or down?
Thumbs up mate, should have got them from the start.
If I end up selling my Simex. I will be looking at a set of 305/70/16. I want to get a full set of 5 with new 16x8 rims.
What offset are people running with tyres these size. I know that up to -22 is common, I would like to keep the deep dish look.
Thanks in advance...
minus 11 rings a bell but MR may have the answer.
I ran 305s with MTZs on them , still inside the guards
After a few weeks with both gauges hooked up I'm happy to report that my coolant temps are between 78-90 degrees with it sitting at 84 most of the time. This is after a new radiator, cap and coolant with demineralized water.
Oil pressure is at 22 psi (idle) and 52 psi (2800 rpm), specs are idle, above 7 and 2800 rpm 43-71 psi as per manual. I'm due for a oil + filter change within the next 1,000 km, so will see if any difference and I can see the gauges clearly in any condition now.:D
With any luck I should be getting my tyres and rims this week.
Before I drop some coin a question. I'm going for a 305/70/16 in a -13 will this cause any issues with the inside if the wheel rubbing.

Waiting on one more guy to call back on pricing. So far for 4 ROH 16X8 with BFG km2 fitted and balanced best is 1840, but that's an hour away.
Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
Is that with a -13 offset?
Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
But with a -22 won't they just sit pass the guards. @Bacho86 what are you running 13 or 22?
Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
They touch as you turn so the offset will only move this point where it touches. Unfortunately they will just about always touch in that size.
For what it's worth. Mine are 285/75/16 and are -13 . Had to remove / trim front flaps. But otherwise no rubbing at all after that.
I know yours are 305, but thought I'd throw it out there for a comparo.
Cheers Hodge.
Any info is good info..
Think I'm just over thinking things.

Cant you space the front diff 12mm forward to prevent this happening.
Heard or read something about it
Think this would definitely be overdoing things IMO - fit the new tyres on first and if required trim / remove front mud flaps

I was at my folks place last night and was flicking through the local paper and saw ad for a tyre place in South Morang rang them up this morning and was quoted 1900, asked if they could do 1800 and if they had them in stock. Yes and yes.

Did a few tight u turns and no robbing at all😂. This is will the wheel turned. It may be due to the 2 degree offset brush.

One concern I had was in the wet, well today was a good day to test them, drove a bit harder into the corners around home and I'm impressed.

Slight difference that adjustable panhards will fix, but it's not much do that can wait.
Tried to get a wheel alignment at pro axle for today, but they're full, will try for another day asap.
Cheers everyone for the input.

Good outcome mate, nice work!

Betcha you dying to test these babies out, I take it they are nice and quiet ATM.
what pressures are you running or going to run
Toolangi and dissa are nice and greasy right now if you're keen to take the shine of the new rubber.

I wouldn't say that they're quite, but not to bad. Haven't checked the pressure yet, it's whatever the tyre place put in. Will check in morning before it goes in for a alignment.
Keen..... I haven't been out since the Dargo trip you kidding me, who's free this weekend. Hodge????
Edit.
How bad is the weather going to be this weekend.

I want to see how these tyres wear so I measured the tread, starting point is 15mm.
Also I measured the overall height and was a bit surprised.
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...016/07/122.jpg
32 1/4".
Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
Can anyone explain why this is.
I remember reading somewhere that comp tyres are bigger than what is stamped on, but these are smaller.
Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
Would it have something to do with tyre inflation/ psi ?
Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
I thought of that, but the actual size is 32.8, that's 1/2" difference. They're at 40psi ATM. Would they really change that much?
Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk
I honestly have no idea John. It was just a first thing I thought of and a wild brainstorming guess. I mean, physically, if you deflate a tire, give it a larger footprint, then the vertical diameter decreases , edge to edge does it not ?
Even if it is 1/2". Maybe not in your case.
Cheers Eric.
No biggie really, just curious. Might go stick some more air in and see what the difference is.

Would this maybe have something to do with them being measured from factory in an unmounted state?
Once mounted, inflated and then with weight on them i would imagine the base of the tire to conform to the ground (flat)
Would these factors create the roughly 1/2" missing from the overall height?
Who knows mate. I know that my work we have a 2% variance plus or minus it's always minus
