EDIT::: CHECK NUMBER PLATE
Probably won't help if it the same problem I had with the actual locking mechanism being broken as the connecting rods won't unlock it.
Only suggestion is to see a panel beater as they must have seen it before or Mr Nissan as a safety issue. Good luck and let us know how it eventually works as it will happen to more and more of us over time.
Tried swearing at it? Doesn't seem to help much.. But makes me feel better.
If it's as Wizard suggests then neither removing the inner trim or cutting a hole in the door sound like solutions, but I guess removing the trim & hoping to find a busted or misplaced connecting rod can't make things worse............. but I reckon a call to Mr Nissan first might be wise.
You want me to see exactly how it comes off, from my car...
You know the story you go to Bunnings ,,,come out every white GU looks the same,,,,just saying
I friend did it years ago when I was a subby at the Ford factory, Bloke said take my blue HQ to lunch
he did and parked it a different position, seems a HQ key would open nearly every HQ when worn lo
Its possible eh
Would winding the window up and down touch the rod inside enough to be able to release the door look
Should only take 2 minutes or less using the following tried and tested old school method
Go to (insert appropriate station name for your state here) Railway Station Car Park.
Stand near the vehicle and shout;
"I am not a Cop."
"I betcha $10 you can't open the Drivers Door on this car"
Only works at night tho... and don't take your wallet
Also works on siezed wheel nuts, don't even have to yell anything.
Just park up and walk off for 10 minutes.
When you get back the wheel nuts will be off.
Don't forget to have someone arranged to deliver 4 new rims, tyres and 2 dozen new nuts tho
So this is a problem with all DX's is it,,,, surely then there must be a fix for it then
what a shizzen thing to have happen if the wife borrows the car, Im thinking all
kinds of horrible,
And thats paying for itself now how,,,,,,,, looks like you need to remove the driver seat not that hard to do.
and take it from there, which ever way you look at it the drivers seat needs to come out eh sad as that may be.
Only 4 bolts
Can you put some welding wire {coat hanger] down in between the trim with a hook .
and try and jiggle something that way
break off the interior trim and replace it with a sheet of aluminium...
Ive had enough for now. I'll tackle it next week and make some calls also
Remove the door trim on the passenger side door so you can see what your aiming for mate. The mechanisms are all rods. Figure out the rod you need to manipulate on the passenger door and you should be able to come up with a plan for getting to it with the door shut.
Not sure that this is relevant, but in the past I owned a sucession of Ford XE's & XF's, well known for busted door handles. On numerous occasions I had to pull door skins off & muck around with connecting rods. The rods operated by the exterior handle & the rods operated by the internal handle were separate. Consequently if the external handle broke, the door could still be opened from inside, & vice versa. The fact that Growler is unable to open the door from both inside & outside unfortunately has me thinking that this is not a 'rod issue' & that getting access into the inside of the door is unlikely to resolve the problem.
If it is as Wizard posted, the problem part requires access to the actual locking mechanism from the rear outside of the door, & therein lies the problem.

I know the Gman specifically want manual windows ,but to eliminate this problem
would it be worth fitting remote locking, just saying. This would Pi$$ me off no
end if it happened to me. Would it worthwhile to ring a mobile mechanic to
come around and have a look. Is there a sure fire fix for this problem or will it re occur?
burnt the piece of shit and get Agatha back
hoping this may help a tad
Yeah it's fukd
To get in some major damage has to happen. And I'm not committed to that just yet

Have you tried putting a key in it and opening it ???
….................... On the move
That the front seat out, remove the trim from the pillar. It must have an opening as the seat belt retraction gear is in there.
There may be a way to get to the bolts holding the part to the pillar. Use a sabre saw with a metal blade or cold chisel to cut them off if you can't undo them.
last resort maybe is to take front fender off to get to the hinges and remove bolts then door will come off completley as there is no electricts to the door should be simple enough
there is a thread about replacing door hinges somewhere i think maybe by the ferrett
hope this helps
ps see you at the send off for the boys going north maybe
stephen
Surely you can put a piece of wire down inside the door cavity with a hook
and try and disturb something. I think if you can get your window to work the
door may well open too. Stuff it just burn it lol buy Agatha back
As I said before take it to a Panel Beater.
x2 on the panel beater any good one will advise the cheapest option... might just need to reskin the door.
