That's what it is I was going to buy a similar knife but more $$$ and they are a long knife
see them all the time at on Iron Chef, They are long and usually surgical sharp so you don't saw when you cut
which you shouldn't anyway. Watch some U tube some guys are masters with these knives
A proper rh sashimi could be $2500 plus

That's only to say its not a double edged knife IMO
Put an edge on the back as well, but don't get caught with it He He
Looks like those boot knives
Would have sworn black and blue that knife was a sashimi number,
but they come in sizes up to 26" long go figure

I likey the pig sticker, almost like a modified sykes fairburn.
Cerrations / Teeth or sawback inclusions can make or break a good knife. Some suit it if the teeth are done properly and can ruin it if poorly designed or made.
Working on a custom journal / diary cover at the moment.

The cerrations on this look similar to a set of steak knifes lol but it looks to me it could be used as a bone saw. Worst case i'll smoothen them out if they affect its performance.

Saw one from Ryan swords I think where they chop plastic 20 ltr drums in half.
then cuts some paper . then decide to cut some 4" bamboo, all with a Katana.
I have three here, I used to take one camping to cut carp in half, then I saw how
much it was worth so its tucked away now. Reasonably sharp and would do heaps of damage
in the right hands, That's why I brought a Jade stone to polish some damage on the blade.
2 I have are folded steel similar to Damascus and sharp the third is a steel blade WW2 again sharp
not as sharp as my knives though

Skinning and General Purpose
45635
The skinner was a free knife as they sent it by mistake instead of the middle knife and then told me to keep both. The little black knife is a BCF brander "Wanderer" camp brand and it is a top little knife, light and comfortable to hold and use and the handle scales are easy enough to remover and replace.
The skinner is comfy and good little size to use and the middle knife is double edged and sharp, it's light so will good for all the general stuff but not for chopping but it gives me a pigeon pair now.

It's made by SR (Colombia) knives with a self locking sheath.
Plier handle locks into place and doesn't obstruct the handle at all, includes a hex / socket head spanner in the handle for the most common screws.
Search for tool knife on fleabay and it should come up, around $30 delivered from memory.

Here it is next to the Browning, still a nice knife just a crap sheath,
to me it looks like it needs rivets at the top but you would know more?

I was pleasantly surprised with it overall, comfortable to hold and sheath not to bad either for a nylon job.
Crappy handle scales as they feel and sound hollow, is the only bad comment I can put on it but it is secured with hex head screws so it will be easy to knock up and secure some new handles.
LED torch is only a basic 1 but I have a spare P5 that will end up taking its place.
$53 delivered from fleabay.

Yup still around, back playing up still.
Had Physio earlier and they think they have found the cause to my symptoms.
It's called and "Upslip" injury which caused my hip and lower back to be out of alignment and compress the muscle and nerves which is causing all the spasms and pinching etc without actually compressing the nerves itself.
No short term recovery of it though, long time still to go before anything improves,"if" it improves at all.
Basically need to retrain the muscle and bone structure for it to realign itself and hopefully reduce the symptoms. Then they can work on the disc issues.
Have got a few ideas running around the old noggin at the moment for some sheathes which will include using the croc print leather I have.

The x7 is a perfect size and weight for splitting kindling at home but its light enough to throw in the back of the car when you go away, same goes for the x25 even tho the x25 is for soft to medium density wood pretty much for damp or wood thats still a bit green. This ripper came today, 7" skinner with gut hook [Damascus]
you will notice the "Grubs" had to have a look to see if it suits their needs.
I don't mind them opening any package but damaging the box puts me off the Grubs even more.
If anyone has friends that are in Customs or at the Post office tell them I'm not happy. GGRRRrrrrrr
Then this one,lol when will it end Oh the humanity of it.

I forgot to take pics but the top of the Axe head chipped and folded over itself. I got it from bunnings.
I like the knife but would prefer the gut hook to be separate.

How many of the vanguard sheathes are you chasing? I have that knife so making a sheath for it isn't a problem.

that Damascus skinner with the gut hook who's emblem is very similar to "Elk Ridge"
but call themselves "The Bone Edge"

No probs at all, will start them over the next few days.
They are very close indeed, from memory CRKT had a similar emblem at one point.
CRKT have now bought out a new line of compass sets for paracord bracelets etc that can include a compass, flint stick and striker, led torch and sometimes a bottle opener as well.
This is mine with the flint stick version and have an led version coming.

Cant wait till the 30th,, went out to shed only stood for 3 min tack welding some lugs for a job.
Had to stop in agony it will now take a few hours to simmer down, but sometimes you need to do stuff eh
Ticked right off, taking a handful of tablets isn't the answer IMO, Oh well not long to go.
Heres a buck one

That is a top looking knife and sheath, any chance you can trace the outline of that sheath and email it to me?
Will make a template from it other knives that will fit.
I know what you mean with pills etc, sitting here waiting for a Physio appt. Back has been crap recently with more pinching, spasms etc

No worries on the image, I will pull apart the nylon Colombia sheath and use that.

Mine has two suction cups and two little legs that fold out,
The bit that gets me is you can only do a few inches at a time
as per the manual. Its a two hand thing from what I gather.
One hand holds the knife on the Blade table while the other does a to and fro
on the blade with a grit of choice in place. I tried it on one of my cast iron Japanese knives\at 15 degrees
to match the angle already there, jury is out for me I'd rather use a stone.
Edit mine is not a Lansky its this one

Saw that tanto was very tempted, looks the goods for sure
They refunded me $10 on the Damascus skinner saying they were all made like that.
They don't show that in their photos, but still a very nice knife.
Late edit.... the sheath for the Damascus skinner is shite as well, the thread they use is way too weak.
They should be using 80lb Dyneema braid at least IMO.
another to send over, maybe or just redesign a new sheath, with a hip clip to hold it in place

Got a bid on this USA Schrade Scrimshaw bear cub folder,
same size as a Buck 110.
tried that sharpening system on my buck110 and the Damascus skinner
I just matched the factory angle as best I could and went from there.
It would work better if you had water dripping on it IMO.
Could not get it sharp enough to shave, so I think its just a waste at this stage.
I'll draw up what I do to the edge and see what you think, I only do a few knives this way not all
but they end up razor sharp and you can shave with them very easily.

should never be left alone with the laptop.
we have hard rubbish ATM guy across the road threw out some pine floor boards, plus what
I have is enough to build my cabinet.

Also while browsing Ebay I came across a return spring for my Pedestal Drill for a few $$$.
Still have 6 more knives to come, need that cabinet badly.
I'll put some pics up later
