These are the original shocks after a hour off the car.
Attachment 34803still compressed only 55k old.
looking the goods there Megomonster you should leave it like that
Yes they are 15" rims and only just fit. But IMO they are too small as I had a problem today where rocks were getting between rim and disc and had no where to go. The guard over the disc only left a 10mm gap and rock getting caught up and squealing. So it'll be 16" rim for me
Seeing as I have a Strato drivers seat And base I made an alloy
Bracket for my fire extinguisher and the best place bar none , is down between
The seat rails. You as the driver are first off the rank. Useless putting them
On cargo barriers. Needs to be in reach of the driver. Pics later
Cleaned up my second hand radius arms today in readiness for standard bushes install.
Picked up my original rims/tyres, shot shocks and springs from Mattfew's house. I left everything there yesterday.

There is a lengthy bed in period but after 50Ks its pulling up 5 times better already,,,,,,,,,,,,
Very happy camper, Next braided lines to stop swelling and better protection from sticks.
Plus coming up to 200K so maybe worth changing a few things, also noticed the rubbers on top
of coils were U/S so will change the to 15mm poly jobs
Fitted a new passenger side engine mount, it was forked. Gympie diesel let me use their work shop and hoist to do it which was great. So much better than doing it on your back in the garage. I was going to fit the drivers side one which is still alright, but I didn't want to use their hoist all day especially when paying customers could have used it
I fitted my hybrid superflex arms too. I will flex it ip tomorrow. :D
Finally got around to fitting my fire extinghisher in the right spot within hands reach of the driver,
Gotta love rivnuts, this time I used 6mm Alloy easy to squish lol

Put the second hand steel bar on. It seems to of evened out the susspension
And fitted the splash plate i had, not getting mud in the alternator on saturday!!
Bought some fatmat(similar to dynamat) off eBay and installed it into the rear of the gq. First I cut them into strips and stuck this to the inside of the quarter panels. I found when tapping the quarter panels from the outside, it sounds very hollow and tinny, but with this stuff installed, it sounds nice and solid. Most of the wheel arches and side panels are covered, will finish the floor off tomorrow and see how much of a difference it had made.
Finally got the winch running, tomorrow is radiator overflow tank and general check over. THEN THATS IT!!!!
Get my camping gear ready, pack and make my way south.
I'll let you know. I like the theory of the stuff. I don't think it acts as a sound barrier, but more so is used to become apart of the panel and stops it's ability to vibrate. When tapping the wheel arches from inside the car, they already sound solid and I was skeptical as to whether I should cover them, but I did anyway. But panels that return a hollow tinny sound should benefit greatly from this stuff. Large flat panels such as the insides of doors and the rear quarter panels will benefit I'm thinking.
One day when my Patrol is not my daily I will gut the interior and go to town with sound deadener.... been for a ride in a GQ full of it and it makes a big difference!
Scrub bars, side steps, winch rope and fairlead put on, and hopefully UHF fixed with no static noise from alternator.
Truck is currently getting the works service done, engine, diffs, transmissions etc

You can stuff acoustic batts inside the Quarter panels makes a huge difference as well.
