Chucked a sickie so i can get stuff done! Found an old pic for motivation too. I just wana go drive it again
picked up the patrol from the mechanics yesty. he fixed my ignition problem, replaced rear discs, pads and serviced the rear brake seals. shes running like a dream now!
Took it for a 'wheel at Tallarook. Had to bust a move with the winch too.
Tip tip tip......tap tap tap....
Not so much the Patrol it had a second Stebel horn fitted, now waiting to do my train horns,
but on the rear of my camper which is a 2010 single cab Hilux tub I wired in two 9watt bulls eyes
lights that cross beams either side of the number plate, so now when I get out at night I can flick switch inside and the led strip light plus these two
bulls eyes will make sure I don't stand on anything untowards. And boy are they bright. Can't wait to get away.
Also sprayed the centre console lid with vinyl spray, looks a treat
Degreased under the hood and found a intercooler pipe as the culprit and replaced a thermal over load fuse.
Fitted the cb radio back on and found the floors wet on the passenger side so lifted the mats and put the heater in for a couple of days to dry the floor out, will be sealing up all the holes in the firewall as I think that's where it came from when I washed the engine.
Nothing, its sitting at home and I am 885km away
Added 100w HID with external ballast, 9" 1 spot 1 spread.

Played with the dawes after fitting new tigged IC had so much boost, spiking at 25 and sitting on 20 foot flat.
I've backed it right off and re did it and the needle valve, yet to go for a spin but think its spot on as in
10psi @ 2000 rpm, only 5 psi ATM causing higher than normal EGTs. Have to pick up some stuff in the morning so I'll fine tune as I go.
duff duff lol

Got my Dawes with heavy duty spring in the mail. Looking forward to getting the car back and installing. Should go good with the rebuilt IP
Had the troll serviced , new belts, oil and filters changed, rear diff full of water as the breather had come off, new longer breather pipe fitted, found rear brake pads low, I have new ones here to go in, also found the left side front hub leaking, the axle shaft is scored so its either a new axle or a sleeve to seal it.
Finally moved the gme radio from it's riveted position passenger side of centre console to the dash under my sony headunit. Much cleaner looking than before
New crank angle sensor, new lift pump and fuel filter, new radiator top, rebuilt injector pump. $4660. Not a bad price in the end!
Replaced the rtc damper with a regular damper. What a difference! Much nicer to drive.
Just bought a pair of front recovery from 3dogs (Outback Ideas).
Another item off the large list of to do's. Attachment 33747
Found my oil leak the motor cover was flapping and wearing away
the catch can hose, no biggie ,450mm of 5/8 hose and all will be fixed
Over the weekend just gone, I ripped out the following:
1 - Dodgy wiring for my spot lights as they were cutting in-out whilst on and shorting out
2 - Removed the old UHF antenna and unit as the antenna was cut in many places and re-attached over time from previous owners.
3 - Removed the Pioneer double din gps unit as it was crap for off-road and map updates are a small fortune (+$300 for ’12 latest).
Once I cleaned out old wiring & removed half the interior I installed:
1 - New UHF antenna and unit. I have now got a compact unit, Uniden UH7700NB.
2 - Rewired the spotlights with new ballast and wire loom.
3 - Installed a single din Pioneer DEH-X6550BT and Pioneer rear door speakers.
4 - Replaced my rear fake all red lights for some eBay specials, I just need to wire the drivers side (eventually).
5 – Got some help to install my NADS – Boost, EGT, Pillar Pod, Catch can and blanking plate.
6 – Installed a 22inch LED light-bar, and almost blinded myself in the process.
7 - Also installed a bash plate, and about to buy a hardcase diff protector
Overall, a busy weekend for me, but well worth it. Engine bay looks a lot tidier with no loose dodgy wires appearing, the interior is a little neater and more manageable for the wife.
I also did my first minor service, changed the oil & air filter, used Penrite 15w50. Cleaned the MAF. I could not for the life of me get the fuel filter off – any tricks would be great.
So far no oil leaks seen, so I must have done something right, lol
Next on the cards is a DP chip, but I think I will get that installed professionally.
Finished the intake, put a flexy joint in the exhaust and started it.
Aaahhhhhhh the sweet sweet sound of a spooling garrett ball bearing turbo

Had mine serviced and had the tappets adjusted. Surprised that the rest of the vehicle is in good nick other than the rust. Found out the last mechanic used shell rimula oil and it turns gluggy apparently?
Installed dawes and needle valve. Got the heavy duty spring option for the dawes. Had it running up to 25psi without going into limp. Have it set at a safe 17psi with spikes only up to 18psi under heavy load in second gear. WOW what a difference it has made to the car. After having the injector pump done and driven home it was still driving as it always did, slow and sluggish but now the acceleration is 5h1t loads better!! with the set up I blocked the EGR aswell the other week so my EGT's are down quite a bit too, going up to 250 where it would be 300-320 before.
Got myself a roof rack high lift jack holder !
Gave the beast a bath and vaccum
started researching suspension lift kits again. bloody hell that's a nightmare.

Fitted some 9" spot lights.
Oil change and filters followed by a wash
Installed a few led strips on the barn doors & f&@k there good
Worked 10.5 hours for the toys for tye crossing..
$500 in my pocket..
The other day I had a tip truck full of tree mulch delivered on my front lawn.
For the past 2 days, I've been hand shovelling the mulch into the back of my truck, driving it around to the back yard, and unloading it by hand.
My pod smells like a Eucalyptus tree. No more sinus probs, either. lol
well I didn't do anything to my troll today but I did buy a steinbauer module for it ill get it fitted after I finish my kitchen rebuild
Pulled the passenger seat and black widow twin floor out to try and dry the floor out and findl out where it's leaking water, gotta get it to the auto sparky in the morning to tidy up the wiring and wire it all up to the back etc ready for the holland track next week. Going on a five day trip, so looking forward to getting away and having fun with the lads.
not today as I am at work but fitted some 42w LED spotties which replaced the crappy LED lights I had before and ordered an Ultraguage
Nothing. At a 6 year olds birthday at one of those play centers with a hundred kids screaming. Kill me!!
