So numb nuts where is the battery now and what sort is it?
Any pic's of that.
The interior is out of the car at the moment allowing me access for sorting the air system ready for the Freespool for the winch and run all the 24v system. I gave run 70mmsq for the entire 24v system, sick!!!

I will now run only 1 x 12v battery in the car. It's under the Bonnett in the usual spot, it's a brand new Marine battery. All the stuff that was on the second battery is now wired to the fuse box you can see in the fire wall.

I am fitting a 600amp continuos switch on the back of the centre console so I can turn the system off in an emergency.

Well found a couple of hours to work on the GQ today. I don't have a shed that it fits in so its a pain in the ass to get stuff done!. Grrrrrrr!
Finally dragged out the Treps for a look.

Took the opportunity to replace the rear brake pads too.
I fitted the wheels up for a look but will need to take them off to sort out the guard chop. It turns out the rims are a big offset coupled with the wider GU Diffs and I have to strip off the flares and find some really really fn big flares!!!

Your Simex's are teeny tiny... Hahaha
If you do go the 150mm edging then tight spacing on the fixings mate, they look pox when lazily put on.
Pretty serious tyres though, definitely not a daily driver anymore ;)
No idea but ask Robbo_ he has them.
Check that thread about td fuel consumption there's a pic of his gq on there.
Are you moving the rear diff back a touch??
Thanks AB i have sent him a PM
Where exactly are the springs rubbing on the shock? To me it looks like you have stock length lowers?
have you put an angle gauge on the pinion and tc output? It seems odd to me that you are making pinion adjustments for clearence issues,
Nah it should be fine and makes sense to me. If I shorten the uppers slightly it will roll the diff forward and straighten the spring that have a very slight bend to the rear. It will drop the pinion and put a little angle into the pinion which looks pretty straight now. Should be fine mate.
How's the clearance at the front of the guards, looks pretty tight or you doing sum choppn? . . . Those treps are HUGE !!
Yeah gotta do a fair chop of the guards, I needed to get them on for a look, to do the chop I have to remove the flares and I put them on properly so that's actually going to be a fair bloody task to take them off!!
Excited though, going to be pretty full on when it rolls next!!
So going up another gear ratio or going a transfers gear change??
Fair enough.
I guess 4.6 and 37's would be similar to 4.1 and 33's??
I know ben-e has said it before but long arms would be a good idea now you have moved to 37's. You have now increased the lever acting on your trailing arms when flexed. This will aid it in trying to drive under itself when climbing and flexing. Not to mention they will help keep those tyres planted much better.
MR's next move. Lolhttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/05/393.jpg
It has had a 2" body lift in it nearly forever. Problem I have is all my bar work is made to suit a 2" body lift and my coil tower brace kit requires some BL. I got a set of 1" BL blocks off Kallen a while ago and will fit that at some point but need to remove and modify my sliders and probably make a whole new rear bar to incorporate front and rear brush bars.
I was already thinking about dropping it down a bit when I did the new Superior Lift and ummmmmed and ahhhhed about it then. Perfect time then! But chose to stick with the 5" lift and gave them all my measurements including weigh bridge weights and hub to guard measurements for all four corners.
I ordered the Lift through 4WDTV at a great deal which I appreciate greatly. Once the lift arrived ready to fit I trashed the car and couldn't present it for the lift fit at 4Wd Obsession as part of a filming for 4wdTV. I then also decided to go with the GU diffs and needed to swap them out before the lift could be done.
The lift sat at 4WD Obsession for nearly 12 months waiting to be fitted. When it finally went in I gained another 2 bloody inches! Making what was already questionable now Very Bloody Big!!! Time killed me, if I'd been on t early I might have had a come back but it was over a year.
So options are to swap out the springs only if I can make the longer Amadas work with shorter springs and maybe take some of the BL out too.
Plenty of guys around now running 37s with a 2" lift and big guard chop. Most of the comp guys went from 2" lift to 5" lift and back to 2" lift and big guard chop for the win.
