Good stuff guys I love a bit of back and forth... now to the death..!!!
The fuel pick up in the main tank , what does that look like? yes I know look up the manual.
Also the pump supplied to me from Patrolapart from the aux tank is a low pressure pump is this ok for use??
Fuel lines is another big one????
This is the sender

Do you know the pressure and flow rate if said pump? The diesels don't have a pump but people to fit small transfer pumps between the main tank and injector pump.
Fuel lines should all be very similar as you should already have one supply and a return to your tank.
Winnie I think I have one of those in the garage so happy days as Daz would say..
Matty I do have 2 lines running and just wonder why everyone I have spoken to have said "You will need the fuel lines"... is this assuming I have a carb model and not efi???
The pump I have for the aux is an inline pump that sits outside of the tank and transfers to the main tank.... would it be better to change to a lock off set up and either pump from one or the other???
Ok mate this is a thread to help me out not get into tiffs.... I appreciate all advice and it is all for the common good... Matty has spoken with me on the phone about my conversion and knows my budget and situation with my finances so has a little more insight in this department.
So please stay the course and remember its me that is asking for advice and help......
There is some advice from people that I know full well about but do not say "I already know that" I just take it all on board and use what I need.. so please be nice and kiss and make up and do not stop with your input.
Put in a Lokka cock!
Take the Motor out of this and put your Motor in and then sell it to recover a lot of your costs

Whats the difference in injectors??
This mob are made locally??? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-DIESE...be093a6&_uhb=1
Or http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271372796...84.m1423.l2649
Whats to look for???
Many have told me to use Winnies rig as something to aspire to but think at this stage that is well out of my budget but Winnie put it into a realistic target of aim towards AB's rig and I think he is right....
The first link looks better. Injectors and injector pumps I believe you are better off using a shop not eBay. Try diesel tec. They should be around the 400 mark for a exchange set.
I tagged him in a FB post where a dude in QLD is selling motor and gearbox only.....

I rejected the offer and need figure out my next move.
I need to sell my set up and am unsure whether to sell in complete or sell it bit by bit??
I know the loom and ecu are sort after.. I have promised the exhaust to Drew and Irish does not know it but he should buy my radiator..lol.
Do not know how much I should ask????
Yeah I saw that and if it had said rebuilt or something but it said tested ok??????
A guy on FB has a TD42 with bolt ons but no starter motor with 150,000 on it for $2,500 in Sydney. Can't tag you. Let me know if you want to hook up with him for a chat.
OK guys I have paid for a td42 engine so the search is off.. I will be sorting out some other needed bits soon but on advice from Matty I will wait until it arrives before any decisions are made and more money spent.
Thanks for the links guys.. I will be looking for a power steering pump as that is the only thing it does not come with.
Been around at AB's for lat few hours sussing out all the differences and checking out AB's handy work on his intercooler set up...... good fun.
Great news, you must be excited. I hope it all comes together smoothly.
Very exciting mate.......

Awesome. Good to hear you're getting somewhere BA! Exciting times ahead...
I have to thank Matty as he has been very good to me with advice and not passing judgement upon me... lol !!!!!
Also Winnie for finding my engine and gearbox... your finders fee will come at the next trip mate !!!!
Is there any mod/compliance plating or engineering that needs to be done before Vicroads will accept it with a TD42 donk?

WOW! Exiting stuff Jono. After going down the conversion path myself I can assure you will not regret it one bit, everything is a positive - power, TORQUE, economy range AND RELIABLE!! And they sound awesome.
If you are getting it out of a car stuff you will need is - Bell housing, starter motor, radiator, vacuum reservoir and the lines that run along the firewall, fuel filter assembly and the lines that run along the firewall. Depending on which way you want to go with the eclectics, there are a couple of options, but at least you will need the instrument cluster with the tacho. I didn't put the full loom in mine, just the cluster and simply wired the glow plugs up to the factory relay via a momentary on switch in the cab which works fine, but if you want the full factory finish you will need the loom as well. You will also need standard tank to replace the gas tank, fuel lines should be fine. I would just hook it up to this, then worry about sorting out the belly tank later, but it's definitely worth keeping. Don't forget Patrolapart are very good with parts and advise and do heaps of conversions themselves.
Awesome stuff, looking forward to the project.
When you do and engine swap like this firstly everything the car came with from factory with the diesel need to be swapped over into the petrol motor ( which i think isn't much ). Emissions on the other hand are a little different, as per all engine conversions the emissions ( intake and exhaust ) need to meet the criteria of which ever is newer for example if the motor was made in 2000 but the car was made in 1990 you need to make the car comply with the exhaust gas and emission adr's of 2000.
As long as Jonathan makes it look factory he shouldn't have a problem
