I dont think it has anything to do with my problem I just wanted to see what they look like and I did.
I have dropped the oil and have been trying to flush out the oil galleries but am not 100% sure of what I am doing.
I've stayed away from it for a few days and will slowly start back at it again soon.
Can use diesel to flush the engine, but easier to just use one of the over the counter products. Run the engine with the old oil to warm it up, then drain. Chuck some cheap oil in along with the flush additive and idle the engine for 20-30 mins. Don't drive it or put any load on the engine. Drain again and replace the filter and fill with good oil. You will be surprised how dirty the 30min old oil will come out if it's never been flushed before.
I've done it every oil change with the patrol, my wife's commodore and my boss 260. What have you been told to be wary of?
I've heard this also, but if the engine is relying on gum and varnish to seal it, it really needs a rebuild. I did this on my 400000km patrol and its fine.
Yeh not a great deal to do with the oil pump. If you have oil one side and not the other the oil pump itself is working just fine.
Seals wil only show weakness if they are already worn. Its like the age old "synthetic oil made my seals leak". It never does, its just the molecules are smaller and more of and as such get through smaller weaknesses in a seal that mineral oil wouldn't.
Flushes (I have never used) I imagine would be a cocktail of chemicals that as a result make a much thinner oil making passing old already tired seals easier.
First drive with turbo fitted....

After some persistence and and back filling the alternator oil gallery we have got some oil flow... since the oil change it has begun to flow so decided to take a punt.
The turbo is fed from the other side.
I will explain in detail soon but so much on at the moment... really really broke so need to try and work out when I can get the car into JPC to get tuned but so far the pyros are good and on par with others figures.
I have to go and get a T-piece for the boost gauge today so I can get an idea of where the boost is sitting.
I have another hunting trip and will take my car so will report back after that.
Benny and Matty thanks for your thoughts and help to guys..
Oh and to all those that wished me well (On face ache) thank you very much !!!
So at last some light at the end of the tunnel. Good to see
I can feel a day trip coming on soon????????

Sweet mate can't wait to see it doing some tracks
That thing sounds sounds awesome, Jonathan. Glad you got the oil feed problems licked.
Happy for ya mate. Will be good to see that car drive around here again! Now let's get a day trip going to test it!
oh it will get a test this weekend don't worry haha.
Monday its booked into jpc... see what its like after they have fiddled with it.
As for a drive I am trying to work out a day but it is a crazy time of year. .
100hp any less and something is up.
Thats awsome Jono bloody glad to hear it's go'n good! Time to enjoy . . . :)
Ok kids here is the latest...
On Saturday I drove up past Seymour to go shooting and there was a mix of highway and tight winding roads up some steep hills.
The pyro's the whole way were within except-able ranges but a a bit on the higher side compared to Matt's car and I was down on power.
On Sunday morning George showed me how to increase the boost and after some adjustment we traveled to the top of a hill on the property to get phone reception and test the boost.. before I was lucky to get 4 pounds but after it was showing 9 which I was told on the gauge I was borrowing was more like 7.5 but did feel better and the pyro's were a touch lower.
Today was the day as far as tuning went and the car went off to JPC and at 5.30pm I picked the car up to be told that before the tune I was getting 65kws and after they played with it I am now getting 88kws and it feels like a whole new car.... so bloody happy.
I have been told to finish off the bonnet scoop asap as my intercooler is like a heat soak.
The turbo funny enough turns out to be too big... this is not an issue but means the turbo takes a touch longer to spool up.
JPC did not give me a hard time about buying a Chinese turbo and Mark understands my situation.
Funny as I was eyeing off what turned out to be an even larger turbo but George talked me out of it... which was lucky.
Got a bunch a little and medium size jobs to do but nothing that will stop me driving my car from here on in.
I look forward to getting back out onto the tracks as it has been about a long time... I think it was May at Toolangi but someone else might correct me on that, either way it has been a very long time.
Thanks again to George for all his help.
Awesome stuff mate. Truly wrapped for you and glad you made it through without buying a jeep. Can't wait to see this thing!!!! I believe you have a day trip to organise now any way don't you?
Cheers Lucus.... I think the only day trip I could arrange would be the 13th or 14th of December... even then its stretching it.
I would really like to do a test before heading away but just dont seem to have enough time.
Thats about 120rwhp, thats what I had back in the day @ 13psi unintercooled i'd be happy with that.
I also had 65rwkw NA. :p. Right..... so when will we see 200kw?
What size is the turbo?
Glad your finally mobile hope your proud of what you have achieved
and from now on enjoy being with the big boys
Bout bloody time!!!
Good stuff BA. Hope it goes well for you.

Hope I did not miss anyone?

Awesome stuff bud. I will need to get around and see and hear this beast now its all done. The transformation on this car since meeting BA a few years ago is phenomenal. Not just the engine but everything. Bruce really looks the goods now since the dress up. And now he's got a stronger heart too.
All good things come to those who wait... Sometimes the wait is just a bit longer than expected...
What, these ones:

NO not as yet Eric... I got the car detailed then days later blew up the turbo so was very dejected and was even banned from working on the car...
It needs a wash after the weekends hunting trip so after that.
I did see this sticker in his car waiting to be put on.

You prick... those are exactly the same stickers my mum had on her car... drives me nuts.
