I'm in Cessnock, NSW near Newcastle. Willing to pay freight if you can box it up.
I need the small, left hand side rear door preferred in white but any colour will do.
Also looking for a drawer system. Needs to have provisions for baby seats. 2/4 drawers is enough, don't need an area for a fridge as I will mount one on top of the drawers.
May also be interested in a steel tubular winch bar comp type if its the right price.

Add to that a full length roof basket. Bought a piece of shit one off eBay that was meant to be 'full size' and suit a GQ-U Patrol but its 160cm long and is at least 200mm too narrow to fit onto the Patrol.

Door trim - recover the trim yourself, buy what ever material you want, in whatever colour you want. Just get some sikaflex and some staples and hit google.

Hi bordertech, feel like a drive to Kilsyth? It's in east Melbourne, not too far from Boardertown. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-GU-Patrol-17x8-Alloy-Rim-wheel-1-/230789296993?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35bc1d3361
Just the rims, no rubber. Probably asking a bit much, normally they go for around $240 or so each on this site, but if you're after the 5 then he says he's willing to negotiate. Says centre caps, but doesn't say if wheel nuts & safety indicators are included. Have you tried Nizzbits? I heard he might be able to do them for about $300 each with the 5th one free, but you'd have to check with him.
cheers,

thanks mate - the factory GU td42 has a hand throttle from factory - looking to use original parts if I can to keep it easy. I think I need a td42 pedal also because I can't see where my ex-zd30 pedal has any point to mount the extra cable.
the knob is for idle up on a cold mornings not a hand throtle and shouldnt be used as a hand throtle as there is no quick release in the case of an emergency

Mate I have the rear corners, the alloy rear step and the two inner corner brackets off our 99 2.8 GU? The lights still function, however I cut the loom to use the plugs on the steel bar, so a bit of easy rewiring is required. The corners are gold/silver colour

Dingo55
21st May 2012, 07:08 PM
Patty, I measured a '03 & '06 GU today both STs. The rear qtr & flares are the same, the distance of the flares & tail lights from the top of the bumper is the same. The bottom of the tail lights on the '03 & '06 start at the same place on each body but the '06 lights extend higher on the rear qtr panel. Only difference is the full plastic bumber covers the center break away U bolt - won't call it a tow or recovery point because it's not. If you fit an '04 or newer plastic bumper on an '03 or earlier, then you would need to fit the extension piece in the centre of the rear subframe, otherwise you won't be able to bolt on that break-away U bolt. Have a look at the attached pdf, page 2 & look for that additional piece - part # 51132. Morton's trol won't have that part. I think it was introduced from '04 onwards.
cheers

you will probably have more luck/options if you just look for a solid trailer then do axel swap to axel under leaf for more clearance and if need be change the hubs to a gq pattern, if hubs need changing while you’re at it chuck in some electric brakes if you plan on doing real 4x4 with it you will want them anyway. i fitted my brakes 10" hubs for around 300$ (already had the in cab brake controler).

Morton, I have removed your mobile number, feel free to put it back on, just be aware anyone on the net can view it not just forum members.
The best thing to do is send Dave ( robbo0001 ) a personal message giving him your number or requesting his number. With a personal message he will get the PM in email form more likely well before he reads this thread.

why buy a new bumper when you can do a quarter cut and custom tube bar now. When ever I break something on the patrol I say to the missus now we need to upgrade this and that so it doesn't happen again so it saves cash in the long run!

Hi All,
Looking for an interior door handle for the front passenger side door.
Don't think there's any difference between driver or passenger side so either should do (or correct me if wrong)? And it's for a ute if their different to wagons.
Just after the handle, not the locking mechanism.
Also saw somewhere that a guy used VL door handles so if no luck with GQ handles I might hunt for them.

Update:
I've sort of given up on this project now because just about every Patrol I've been to inspect has some form of major rust in it. One guy was even asking $8k for one with both roof rear corners and the passenger side rear slider window eaten away that badly you could see into the cabin. I could go the way of the GQ 2.8LTD but with the price of these still hanging around the $10-15k mark, it just isn't logical.
I've researched and decided instead to drop a V8 into the Surf which will set me back less (about $6K) than what it would take to purchase a Patrol. The only decision left now is whether to go with the 1UZ-FE or 350/LS1. All adaptors for the 350 will set me back around $2.5k and the engine around the $3-4k mark. The 1UZ-FE is about $1.2k for a half cut but there is a lot more work involved in setting it up. Compare that to buying a rust-free Patrol and dropping in a 400hp $4.5k RB30DET and you will understand that it just isn't a financially sound investment or practical.
Trying to find a good Patrol for under the cost of converting the Surf seems to be unlikely, and I've had enough of travelling to see these "excellent condition" Patrols only to be faced with another disappointing example.
Decisions, decisions.
Thanks for the interest and help guys.

Hey All, Please try to mention both Snicko and TasLucas when recommending stickers. As both these members offer them. And if my memory serves me correctly, SNICKO made our first lot. Of which I have one and am happy with.
TasLucas seems to be pleasing the natives with his product also.
But I think we need to support both of these great members.

Yeah poor old Snicko had just got a new batch done and paid for when ol' mate Tas did his first run and I think she kinda got left holding allot of stock. Buy from either as they are both quality stickers guys.

It didn't help, that she went a little quiet on here at the same time too................. I've had stickers from both and couldn't be happier, also got a sticker from the original guy.
I'm up for supporting any one I can on here, as long I can afford it

Is Snicko(DARTH) still around, as you know I don't get much to time to visit NS/GB threads.

Not sure how far out they would sit, would depend on how wide the rim is and if you went the 10.5" or the 12.5" wide tyre.

If you have a look in my thread at the photos where I have my mud tyres on, they are -22 offset so -26 would sit out 4mm further than that. Would definitely stick out past the stock guards, if you've got flares you would be fine.

Hi, trying to find a set of, preferably, mud tyres in either 33 or 35 inch on rims with a decent offset for GQ. I'm located in southern suburbs of adelaide, let me know what you've got.....

Hey mate, I have a set of bfg km2s mounted on 15x8 white dynamic sunraysia rims with a neg 23mm offset and the tyre size is 33x12.5x15. These tyres have literally only driven roughly 650kms on bitumen and gravel.
The only downside is im in Brisbane but if you want to organise freight i will assist in getting them to the freight company.

Has anybody got a Cargo Barrier (either full height or top half) up for sale? 98 GU.
Any condition is okay, within a couple hours of Melbourne preferably. Price not too critical, just cheaper than new!

To suit GU, standard or slightly wider off-set okay. Pref black. Within a couple hours of Melbourne.... Price would depend on type and condition.
