Well the old drivers seat has finally sagged and become very uncomfortable so it's time to rejuvinate the old girl.
I want to replace both front seats to keep the matching pair look in the GU so wondering if anyone out there knows if there are there any seats from other vehicles that can bolt straight in with all the same adjustment points.

I'm based in Sydney.

I have the financial controller's blessing, so I can finally start shopping for a new (to me) vehicle.

Looking for a 2003+ Patrol near Sydney. Ideally with the 4.2 TD, but if not, then the 3L TD.

Nice to haves:
Tow bar
Decent tyres
Cargo barrier
Front bar (winch not required, so factory alloy is fine)
Side steps/rails
Roof basket

Budget is something near $20k, depending on rego and what else I'll need to buy for it.

If you have something to offer, let me know.

Hi guys,
Im in desperate need of a carby for a GQ TB42 AUTO.
Just purchased the vehicle, and it has a fully reconditioned and tuned carby with receipts. Only problem is that its for a manual instead of an auto so it has no throttle position sensor. I found out the hard way when it fried the torqe converter!
So i need a carby or just base plate and throttle position sensor to suit a GQ TB42 AUTO.

They are the same bolt pattern as a low mount mate, any lowmount will bolt straight in to the bar you have... what brand is it?

benno
5th September 2011, 06:55 PM
Howdy MudRunnerTD, not sure what brand it is or weather it's a home made job, but it sticks out a bit at the front so would need to be cut back or spaced which wouldn't be that good. A normal winch is too wide to mount in.

Trying to get the new tourer set up before the school holidays.

Confirmed my Koni shocks are good for a 2" lift, so I'm after the springs to suit. Steel bar on the front, and drawer setup coming for the rear, so the heavy duty or constant load units would be preferred. Happy to pay freight on them if they are coming from outside the Sydney metro area.

After a full or half height cargo barrier to suit a GU 03. This would need to be local as freight would be expensive.

Also after some roof racks or a roof basket. 3/4 or full length is fine, and happy to clean up an old basket if it's a bit rusty, etc. Again, Sydney metro +/- 75KMs for this.

If you have any of the above and you want it out of your shed/garage, give me an idea of price and location, and I'll bring the cash.

Silver
13th September 2011, 02:10 AM
I painted an old roof rack with hammertone, admittedly spray gun not brush. Looking at the prices discussed on here for a new roof rack from flea bay, or better, check one of the forum vendors, maybe I'd have been better off buying new one.

G/day all...

I'm on the look out for 1 or even a pair of Polly air bags that go inside the existing coil springs on the rear.

I have a split in mine & to date I have found nothing that will hold a repair & frankly, I've given up on trying.

So if anyone's got a 1 of or even a pair there looking to offload PM or email me at the links below.

Cheers

Hi all,
I have a fella down tha road wanting a SD33T for a MQ Wagon I got him over 6 months ago. He is able to drive a reasonable distance to pick up. He is not sure how much he is willing to spend. Obviously after a reasonably good one to drop in and drive. I reckon something that may need rear/front seal or tappet/sump cover gaskets would be acceptable as these could be done before install.

PM me if you know of any or see anything.

Thanks Tim

Disregard original post, looks like I have found a second hand one.

Anyone needing a new Oil pump housing, for the RE403A be aware there are three different types for the GQ depending on year model.

Garry at Nizzbits (http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/member.php?132-NIZZBITS) also sells brand new housings if your after a brand new one.

Thanks again Garry for all your help, much appreciated

Guys, recently bought an old MK patrol thats a bit rough on the inside including the cowling covering the steering column / ignition missing.

Interior is Blue.

If anyone has an old MQ/MK sitting around that they are looking to wreck or part-out that has a Blue interior and an intact steering column/ignition cowling that they are willing to let go of, please reply in thread or PM me.

Hey guys long time no speak. I am still on the road and now stuck in Perth with a dead alternator.
Problem: its a 24 volt Safari, i had a quote over 350$ for a second hand one of a wrecker but think that is quite deer?!?
Does anyone have a 24v alternator for a TD42 sitting around, 89 Nissan Safari or you guys think 350 is a good deal?

I know this doesnt belong in this section but about how much should I sell my GQ Safari for, its only got 180.000 k on the clock runs smooth and got the beautiful 4.2 ltr Diesel engine. We think about buying a smaller 4wd as we have never taken it into serious 4wdriving!

Thanks

I have done this to my GQ, It is very affordable and very efficient as you can have you can in a stubby cooler as well, will also take 600ml bottles without the cooler.

Warning: Do not put hot drinks in this cup holder.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself with this picture. It was a joke I played on someone.

Take care out there, and hope you find an original.

Wreckers mate - make them half decent though as I'd be p!ssed off if I just bought the rig from you and on my first venture out the hubs let go ...

Good luck with finding a set.

You can buy brand new aftermarket hubs on EBay for $135, so watch what wreckers charge for second hand.

Thanks for the link mate, nice write up :)

I think I just need new brushes in mine, but have not been able to source any new ones. And really don't know who would do them if anybody. The motors are built very well, was surprised they could be stripped down completely.

I know its not an electrical problem as I have already tested all that......

More info please. How big, method of securing it to the roof, ect.

You can get ones that fit over your spare wheel, too.

one for the spare wheel would be much easier
most 4x4 outlets carry them
