G’day everyone,

Long-time Nissan Patrol enthusiast here currently running a TD42 and have owned a few GU’s over the years. Love how capable these rigs are, whether it’s touring, camping, or just daily driving.

I’m reaching out because I’ve run into a situation a few times now, and I’m sure some of you might have too: needing to transport a Patrol (or any vehicle) long distance, or pick one up from interstate without driving it back yourself.

Whether it’s buying a new project car, moving vehicles between states, or needing to get a non-running Patrol home, what do you all do for transport?

Have you used a car transport company before? Any recommendations or ones to avoid?

For interstate pickups, do you fly and drive back, or arrange transport?

Any tips for preparing a Patrol for transport (especially lifted or modified rigs)?

If you’ve used a removalist or tow service locally, were they careful with your vehicle?

I run a transport-related business myself (specializing in secure, insured vehicle movement and chauffeur services), so I know how important it is to have someone treat your Patrol with care. But I’d love to hear real experiences from the community — the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Cheers, and thanks in advance for your insights.
