More or less finished the POD electrics today, debating whether I stick with the breaker panel or just run have short extension leads instead to the other side of the POD - bit extravagant with the separate panel I think.

Sorted out the lack of charge today, was missing a common earth, now rear batteries are charging, via the BCDC, solar and direct off alternator. Painted the sliders on the underside, taking two days to dry with the cold weather. With luck will get it out for a squirt down the highway before going back to the mine for a month straight - not looking forward to that.

Thanks Stropp, spent another big day on the barge, stuffing around and doing things once properly, 240V system now installed, double Makita 18V battery charger installed, on board Victron 240V charger installed, fitted the remaining pod anchors today, sorted out the coolant leak which was a loose clamp, need to sort out one more POD rear wall penetration, and fit a fuel isolation valve, then it will be on the final run. I have a number of hydraulic hoses under the car for the winches and they really need some robust supports. Off to the mine again for a month this time, so will address when I get back. Simply ran out of time today, and the temps plummet after about 5pm, so headed inside for a beer.

Just got word, a piccy too, from my newfound weekend Legendary Lady panel beater.
My GQ guards are ready for CK0 code paint tomorrow & Tuesday:

Ended up cheating and outsourcing a TIG welder Legendary Lad too for reconnecting my wacky trimmed idea:

Tried my best with the Shed MIG and gave up……if it aint 10mm thick and 200+ amps I am a horrible welder

These replacement guards for my Tassie munted ones sound like they’ll be getting used across the Simpson Desert/Mud Trek soon
Was hoping to run my 33” All-Terrains, might have to keep the 36” Simex on instead

Look great Mark. My crossing of the Simpson was with mud terrains and I didnt get any further in the goop on the Strezleki than the guy with all terrains in all honesty, sticky power sapping muck, no friction, no go forward.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
