Decided to finish this rig today since i'm stuck home crook as a politician. Also dumped a lot of hours into it last weekend.
Drive train is astronomical. You literally build a transfer case with different ratios. It has functional lockers, front and back. All controlled through a phone app. Flexes more than a Y62!!!!
I’m showing this to my grandson, he’ll be super impressed. A real Lego fanatic, just hope he doesn’t expect me to buy him the kit. I’ll drop some massive hints it would be a good birthday present FROM his parents.
Cheers

@Hodge I am mate. I have been eyeing off the liebherr digger and d11 dozer. Both expensive but would love to get them and put them together. They are the same with using the app and are fully functional.

You mean this one ???
I was tossing up between this and the Cat back when they were $500 ish ...ended up going for the Liebherr. But a whole small bag of parts was missing from the box I've been waiting to arrive from Denmark for months now so it's sitting semi assembled in my son's room.

How many hours do these things require for assembly? These look super impressive but I haven't lego'd for many years though.
What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??

Sorry Plassy I can't put labour hours on them personally. It's one of those things where you can hook into it and smash it out or take your time like I did. There's a lot of intricate parts like the drive train cogs and driveshaft alignments in this 4x4 truck that needs patience and a bit of precision.
Excavator is 4000+ pieces and the truck was 2000.
The truck is a s#it-ton of fun !!!!

Many Hours mate. Like a 5000 piece jigsaw but with instructions. That liebherr digger has 4100 pieces and is $1000... Very very kool

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

My weekend project: Fit chromoly CVs and rebuild swivel hubs... which means I'm also servicing wheel bearings and fourby hubs. And whatever else I notice while under there.
