OK UPDATED, PROBLEM SOLVED
The brown plug is not the one required to remove, this is simply for the wiring to attatch to the main plug,
The big black plug is whats required to be removed and there are no pressing or depressing requirements, If you look at the front of the black plug you will notice what I though was a metal spacer or clamp for grip. (my assumption only) This in fact is a metal circlip that holds the plug in place, this circlip needs to be removed from the plug by sliding down as per a normal circlip I will attatch pics of what I was left with and hopefully help someone else out.
Pic 1 shows the plug and what looks like a drain valve, Ill look into this and see if I can attatch a hose and loosen it off next time, It wasnt to much of a mess anyway..
