Wiper bottle has sprung a leak. I have found and removed the screw closest to the guard, however can't get to the one closest to the engine. Does the battery need to come out to get this screw out?

going from memory when I changed mine in my old GQ Wagon there was one hidden close to the battery tray and the only way for me to get to it was to remove the cranking battery.

Dom, the screws holdinDSC01726.JPGg the pump to the rubber washer have corroded and the plastic perished, hence it lost the seal. i am going to buy a couple of pumps and replace both of them.
Yeah mate, same thing happened to me. I bought a pair off ebay. I still got the other one, 'cos I only needed one, but ebay was selling them as a pair. If you want it, it's yours, but I don't think the drive's worth it.
Now, you can buy a single pump.

Being a "fixer upper" of all things by myself, I spent some good time trying to repair the old one before realizing it's a total waste of good time.

I ended up buying a new tank with new pumps. Past experience has shown that patching and mixing new and old stuff is a waste of time and frustrating. I will put the existing tank and good motor in the shed, pack it up 3 times when I move then throw it away in 40 years time!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
