The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

You don't currently have a jack for simple tyre changes? Buy a hydraulic bottle jack from supercheap or alternatives....done. For changing tyres on the beach or track somewhere as said already exhaust jack. But usually with steel wheels if you can drive / winch to a flat safe firm ground the hydraulic jack will work as well.

But that is what Hi-lifts are, IE a Recovery Jack.
Please, please, do not use a Hi lift to change out flat tyres... unless your will is up to date or you have awesome medical cover and know a good panel beater.
The only even remotely safe way is to lift the wheel using a "wheel mate" for the Hi Lift then lower with extreme care onto an axle stand, change the wheel and reverse the process.
An air bag can be used in a much safer manner for that purpose and you don't need the jack points in your bar work necessary for a Hi-lift

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.
I have 3 Hi lift jacks and love them to bits I only used one last week.
I have a Trewalla ,a Hi-lift and a TJM OX branded one, ohhh where did I
use it,,,,,,,,,pulling my neighbours front fence posts out they are the best for that lol
But they are dangerous always leave the handle UP or you'll end up breaking your jaw
or worse. IMHO I cant see the need for them on modern [plastic] 4x4s.
The taller ones are worse as they wil bend with any weight on them.
Go buy an exhaust Jack and practise at home before you actually need to use it
EDIT dont forget a jacking plate min,,,300x300x6mm plate

04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
I have had a hilift bend under load. It is now relegated to wire straining and post pulling. Bloody dangerous pieces of kit.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.
If you can find one. Trewalla is the best. Or the HiLift from ARB. I wouldnt bother with any other brands.
