    mate when you fit the new one just check the charge voltage just to make sure you haven't lost the regulator. I had that happen and it was charging at 19volts plus and cooked the battery.

    Very unusual for a battery to be a dud, but I don't really know too much about them.

    Concerned it's in the car as suggested, but more than happy to be proven wrong.

    They can be a bugger to lift in at the best of times,LOL
    Just a reminder to wipe the posts with a green scourer.
    Did it have much crud under the battery ???
    Did you get the same brand as a replacement.??
