The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

love your work mate! awesome write up and its nice to see your tackling all your problems. hows the 2.8 go? its pretty common that they do heads i think?

FYI, you can definitely still drive left hand drives here, you just need a special permit so come on over and well show you what a "Real" winter is hahaha, it is just about to begin =P

The 2.8 goes great now. This is my first Patrol, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I'm pleased with how she pulls. The 2.8 and the ZD30 are the most common engines over here. It's almost impossible to find a factory TD42, although I have seen quite a few swaps from the ZD30 to the TD42. The RD28T can blow heads, but not as commonly as the early ZD30s. The damage had been done on mine long before I got it.

Well, you blokes also drive on the wrong side of the road, so I'm not sure I want to chance it over there Actually my first 2 vehicles here were right-hand drives. At the time, the used car market was booming with imports from Japan, so there was a plethora of right-hand drives all over the city. The market has shifted a bit now to more European model imports, so it's becoming less common to find them.

I think you could if you hung a left-hand drive sign on it. When are you coming over?
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

I'll just borrow one of your Patrols while I'm there

Seriously, I'd love to visit the land down under sometime but that would be quite a bit in the future.
