Yep, agree, WHEN you get a Scan gauge you will see that they like a bit of welly.
Not 'flat to the boards, burst off the line at every light welly' but get the sucker up in the torque band and keep it there then feather right off when cruising speed

Yes, but get used to what is normal and perfectly acceptable "spikes".
Almost every ECU controlled VNT turbo on the planet (and there are tens of millions of them) are 'under' damped and will exhibit an oscillation when compared to an 'over' damped mechanical system.
The spikes are a normal and it is only the changed magnitude that is an issue

As an aside, I have a '10 Series VII CRD. How is the fuel tank capacity entered into the Scangauge? Is it with the main and sub tanks added together? That is 95L for the main tank and 32L for the sub making a total of 127L....

If you are using the 'how far to empty' functions then, yeah, you can do that if you want.

I never bothered as I had a LRA tank so the Sub was like an emergency reserve so to speak.
All I did was check the 'litres used' as I was pulling in to the Servo and filled up.
Unless I had been wringing it's neck down the beach or in the mud with lots of wheel slip then it usually took the amount used within 1 or 2 litres to fill her up.

Mine was chipped and on 33's so it had +11% as the compensation figure you enter into the scangauge to get the accuracy of +/- 1%
It will be different for everyone tho...
