Anybody know what this is?
I was running power to the rear of my GU recently and found this under the rear passengers side sill

Just wondering if anyone knows what it is I was thinking maybe circlip remover??? But any way it had been there for a while and had started to damage the wiring, it hadn't fully rubbed threw to expose the wires so I use electrical tape to re wrap the individual wires that had rubbed and the loom itself, do u think this is sufficient?

So lucky find I guess and a new tool I may find a use for and bonus one less rattle now if only I could sort out the passenger side sun visor bouncing around lol.

not sure mate, looks like a bracket of some type. the tape should be sufficient as long as the wiring wasnt exposed.

That's exactly what I was going to say..have one in the toolbox..Generally AFAIK the tools to remove panel trim are plastic to avoid scrapes and scratches on trim

Does your truck have power or manual windows?
Car hasn't been in a minor bingle has it?
That is awful clean under the scuff trim.
Usually a lot of grit and dirt etc gets in there.
Can't see it being there ex factory unless they had to fiddle with something.
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

All power windows, I can't be 100% it has never been in a bingle I only recently purchased it but had a full inspection done and they said all paint thickness was factory and didn't report on any repair work. In saying that after finding this I pull the rest of the trims just to check and they were all about that clean I bought the car of a 70 year old guy who never took it off road it was literally grandpa spec, but I will have a better look at the sills and door tonight.
