The old boy did the same and hasn't smoked for about 19 years - it was pretty radical in it's day (going to hypnosis) but it worked ...

Mate I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to give up, i rekon you have to want to for it to work but the brain is a powerful thing .........well in some of us hahahahaha. Its an addiction that is said to be stronger than a skanky heroin addict. Good luck to all of you who wanna kick it. I too am a chronic reformed addict, i got a mate at work who i follow out for a smoke and watch him and say thigs like are you havin a nutha 1 didnt you just have 1 are you still smokin why dont give em up! hahahahahaha wont tell you what he says to me

Jeez, the pressure is on now ! I have smoked for over 20 years now, never given up. I dont smoke AT all while at work for 2 weeks. So, it's easy, you say ! As all smokers would know it's probaly more out of habit than anything. As soon as I hit that dry land the smoke is in my mouth.. Hubby smokes too, so thats pretty much one tyre a week for Katrol that goes up in smoke . Anyway armed with Champix ( the wonder drug) and Nowoolies wise words, we'll see how it goes. Maybe Loveday will be a smoke frre event.

I'm a strange kind of smoker where I don't need one unless I have a beer or rum in my hand. Once I start drinking...that's it I chain smoke(pretty much).
If I go without a drink for a few days I don't even get a craving for one....strange I know!!!

Mate, I know what you mean. I used to be a box a day man till I got settled and had kids. Now I try and keep the missus happy and only drink a box 6 days a week...lol

This is giving up smoking thread, not drinking ! Although the two seem to go hand in hand alot.
My justification for not givng up is my weight, do men care about their weight these days ??
I struggle with my weight every day, and took me 3 years to loose 100 pounds, I dont want them back... I swap ciggarettes for food at work, I dont want to do that at home..

Nahh mate, I couldn't do that these days. Exaggerated comments are just wishful thinking. I'm lucky to put away a bottle or just under a box twice or so a week only...then I suffer the next day. I still love it tho
