    Detailed Engine Pictures

Can anyone help with some detailed engine compartment and underside pictures? I have a '99 4.5TB (Attila) which Swambo and I drag through the African "outback" on various remote and sometimes hairy adventures. Recently we had a really muddy trip which resulted in the engine looking like a muddy hippo and the front crank oil seal started leaking from all the mud that had probably been push behind the pulley (already fixed again with help from this forum).

It then dawned on me that there is a splash cover missing under the front crank pulley and possibly some other splash protection as well. Unfortunately, in the area that I live I don't have any Patrols close at hand that I could crawl under and use as reference to rebuild missing protection. What does this splash guard look like or is there somewhere I could find a picture of one? Also, any advice on the subject will be greatly appreciated.

It would also be great to get some other detailed engine compartment pictures to see what else has been rearranged during the early years of Attila's life.

Have a look in my recent thread DIY- winch install. In post #6 there's a pic of the plastic air deflector that fits under the radiator.
There's no other "splash guard" under the crank pulley.
Leaking front seal is pretty common..

Thanks guys, really appreciate the response and pictures. I have the remnants of the plastic deflector still in place (the two bolt on strips) but had no idea of the size and angle. Will definitely begin fabricating one this week-end. I also like the diff protection as well. Provides a significant degree of cushioning in the bolder beds.
