Hi Guys,
i just spent the last 5 nights camped at the Abercrombie River National Park. Its a tiny national park located about an hour north of Goulburn and was very basic but i had an amazing time, there was bugger all other people camped out there so we (my group of 7 people) had a massive campground all to ourselves.
ARNP is a 4wd only accesible park, ther are alot of steep hill climbs/descents and a few very small river crossings. we went out to do only a little 4wding and mainly wanted R&R.
Went for a walk along the creek we camped on and up a few ridges, attemped a few silly hill climbs(didnt make it) and checked out the sights from the high peaks around the area. saw HEAPS of wildlife, mainly redneck wallabies, eastern greys and a few possums, but also saw a falcon, a few eagles and a tawny frogmouth. the owl was spectacular. we were hoping to see a wombat ar two and platypus as they have been spotted in the area but didnt get that luxury. unfortunately we also did see about a dozen feral pigs, man they do alot of damage to the land.
