TB48 Safari Snorkel - Install Questions.

Hi everyone.. I am now wanting to get a Snorkel.. From what I can tell the Safari is the best bet. Good reputation. Not the cheapest but that isn't what I am after.. My question is..... While I am not completely useless with the tools, I am not exactly sure that I want to, or have the right equipment needed to install this myself. That big hole in the guard worries me..

So I am looking for advice. Should I try it myself ? What tool would be needed to cut that hole.? Nibbler, jigsaw, big hole saw... I really don't know.. I dont want to make a mess of it.. Yes I know there are templates provided, and I am comfortable with all the other bits, its just that hole..

I got a price fitted for a $ or 2 under $700.. and seeing as I can get them from many different places for just over $400 that is a fair cost for install.. Just wondering.. what everyone else thinks..

    Cheers

Measure three times and cut once, guy doing mine used an air hack saw.
Didn't see any special tools, make sure you paint/treat and bare surfaces
Have heard stories of PPL cutting the hole in the wrong guard lol no not funny
    Mine is a TJM snorkel

Avoid the cheap snorkels I've heard templates are not to scale, Safari is a great brand

EDIT:: big step cutting a 5" hole in a perfectly good guard, cringe

I'm on the phone so can't give a link but try to find my DIY thread for installing a 4" stainless steel snorkel.

The nibbler is the winner mate!

Drill a hole in the centre put the nibbler through and hack away. You can cut as fast or slow as you like and you cannot stuff it up.

I recently did a safari on the disco and it took 1 minute to cut. 10 minutes to fit, easy done.
