any proper clues as to all the water pipes going into the head? is it just for cooling?
Cheers Mark.

Yes for cooling mate, if you give Brett a call at 4wd Obsession in Melton Victoria he is running a Turbo TB42 with that exact setup in a Cut down comp car. Very tidy unit. He'd be happy to fill you in.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.
awsome mate, cheers for that
Got a patrol in the back yard with that work done. Worth swapping the head onto my turbo one?

Yeah no worries with doing it. Done it to many times already haha. So it does help heaps? Ill have to put t pieces into the head and run the line along the head. Not much room for all them pipes with the turbos.
Not to be confused with actual "water injection" which is where water is atomised into the combustion chamber.

It helps in continuous high output so like race 4wds etc where they spend most of there life flat out. It allows a more uniform flow to the head in turn helps with cooling it the above described conditions.

Yeah its just to get water flowing better to stop cracking and what not
Hi Guys
Its very old technology, Offenhauser and many race engines ran a cooling system which used individual tubes to even water circulation around each cylinder.especially to the rear cylinders. Offenhauser for those interested , their block and head were cast as one piece eliminating the use of a head gasket. these motors were very successful at Indy and also speedway.
