    2.8 butterfly removal/hose blocking

Hi. I have had the EGR blocked for a while and thought I should get to the butterfly removal. After a fair bit of searching around the net I have come across the suggestion to block the vacuum hose by blocking it or bending it and securing with cable ties. Is this essential? I am not overly mechanical but if this is what I think it is then if I block that wont it stop my turbo meter from reading as it seems to feed off of that via a tee piece? Maybe someone could point me towards the right hose on the 2.8? Thanks guys.

You don't need to block anything. Just remove the actual flaps from the shaft and leave as is.
