    advice wanted

hey all, looking to buy another gu 4.2 now as i have sold my 4.2 n/a.
have found this one for sale and would like any advice on the value or what to look for when buying.
its a 99 4.2 factory turbo gu wagon st
    330,000 k's
    snorkel
    dual batteries
    cb and arial
    3 inch lift
newer model 17 inch rims, 6 of. getting low on tread
ally bullbar, scrub bars and side steps. look to be one piece and would think it would be a little tricky to remove.
    towbar
    tinted windows
ally roof rack with built in water tank and tinny rollers (for roof top tinny)
looks to be in fairly good nick inside and out
no oil leaks that i can see
no rust or bad damage that i can see other than ally side steps are bent
he is after around $20,000 negotiable with new tyres fitted or offers without new tyres.

what do you guys think is a good price to pick it up for?
    any input appreciated
    Cheers

Maybe around $18,000, no more, it is 99, you get nothing for accessories, thats a bonus for the buyer
You buy tyres or 19 he buys tyres
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

Good start mate. Non turbo. Ready to go. Sought after. The 17" tyres will be expensive. Not a bad jigger.
    Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!! ....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

    New one is turbo..
Um, look at the type of tyre you would like fitted.. no doubt el'cheao tread will be fitted apon sale so I'd say buy without new tread. I'd offer the his price minus the cost of 4 tyres of your choice, so you pay for 2..
So at around $300 a corner your looking at an offer of $17,800. Go in at $17,000..

thanks for all your replies all, very much appreciated.
i agree with you with the tyres, im thinking 17's will be dearer so i think i will make offer for car without new tyres and might go back to 16' or even 15' with the tread of my choosing.
for tyres i would be looking at bf goodrich , thinking approx 33's? do you guys think they will fit well under 3 inch lift?
had a chat with him and asked what he would let it go for without new tyres, he said $17000 negotiable.

The guys in the know seem to have been on the money, good luck with the purchase.
Nice to pick it up with a fair bit of fruit too.
    Looks good in the photo.
Think you just missed out on a group buy for some 16x8 ROH Blak Trak's as well... bugger

33 inch tyre in 17 inch rim in BFG will set you back near to $500 each. Negotiate from $17,000. Check to see that the service history at least matches with the mileage.

Thanks all for your input, just one more question, which would be the better option, to buy this car or one like it, as in a early gu 4.2 turbo or get a newer model around 2007 3.0 turbo? cheers
