Hey Benno, do you need to replace the whole assembly or just the mast?
If its just a mast you should be able to just remove the chrome nut at the base of the aerial mast and use the motor to drive the old mast & rope out, then use it to pull the new one in.
If you need to do the whole assembly you'll need to pull the inner guard out which is pretty easy too.

Yeah not hard to do. The mast on mine never went right down since I bought the car. I assumed that how they were until I was told otherwise. I took the whole thing out, by removing the inner guard then the whole thing is easy to get too and remove, I then pulled mine right apart, clean it out and now it works like a new one.
I reckon it would be quite hard to get the new rope in the motor without pulling it apart. As the rope curls up and if the teeth on the rope aren't exact you might end up destroying the teeth...
