    hi Kimbara
Just have a quick look at your fuel tank breather and make sure its not blocked. When it is playing up open the fuel cap and listen for air being drawn into it. Thats my first thought. When you drain the fuel filter next drain it into a glass jar and let it sit for a while, if there is water in it you should see some separation also as Robo said in could be an algae bug in the tank ,look for a blackist ring on the jar.
    hope this helps

Do you get water out of filter when you drain it???? If so try putting about 500ml of meths in fuel tank as there appears to be no drain plug, the meths will absorb the water and mix with the fuel, next time you change your fuel filter, pour the remaining fuel into your hand to see if any water comes out and what colour it is to determin if tank is rusting.

there are diesel fuel additives that can be bought from repco and other semi reputable auto parts stores. many of these have anti algae ingredients, many also have water absorbing ingredients. give a slight overdose to your take, it will help clean out your injectors, fuel lines, fuel pump, tank etc and is an easy first step
