A can of worms that has well and truly been stirred up on here and elsewhere. a search on recovery points should provide some informative reading and some entertaining reading.
Not esp cheap, but in the ball park.
Many say the pin that holds your tow bar tongue in is just as good, or better. Certainly saves you $50. My thought is, if I want someone to pull Silver out, I need them to be happy with what they are hooking up to. I have one of those. I have the pin, I have two after market front recovery points on the front of Silver for two reasons, first, I like a load on both chassis rails, and second, I know some people don't trust the factory front GQ hook. Shame they interfere a bit with the front approach angle, but the factory alloy bar is worse (at the moment, where is that hacksaw?? :-) )
I think you need to be very explicit with people if you are expecting them to keep an eye out for your return - that is what I do when I go offshore fishing.
They look ok to me & still ten times safer then not having one....
