I am thinking give it an oil change with a heavier grade oil and see if the petrol smell returns.

Bargain price for a good looking Q. The petrol engines love to rev, and their torque is generated in the higher rev range. Being a carby it has stuff all to go wrong with it too. It is easy to slap...

I reckon some of he prices I have seen for a stocker with a TD42 have been unbelievable! I see TB42s for $2,500 all the time but rary see a TD for under $8k
