My clutch on my GU with the boosted clutch engages roughly an inch or so off the floor. Clutch would have around 5k on it too.

I'd go one with Japanese bearings. Also, buy some genuine inner axle seals, and use them instead of the ones that come in the kit. They're easy to tap in crooked, and the genuine ones seem better...
