Vehicle Button Quiz

Hi Team!

I don't have an owner's manual and wondering what these two buttons do!? Stupid question to some I'm sure.

Knob on the right is a throttle hand control for use off road when the going is slow & bouncy. Keeps you from bouncing your foot up & down on accelerator pedal & 'jerking' forward. Push accelerator pedal down to get desired revs, pull out knob & turn to lock it. You can then take foot of accelerator & maintain revs. It's a good idea that used to be common, but seems to be missing from many modern 4wds. Dunno what RR Heater switch does, don't have one in my car.

I think thats what a few use that for Ian, but I believe its was actually intended for was the use of PTO driven devices. Not 100% sure though.

Yeah could be used for both. Basically to keep engine revs constant. In my childhood saw milk cockies using this function to keep vehicle driving slowly through paddock while dishing out feed from the tray. Not worksafe approved these days I'm sure, been many a farmer driven over exiting or trying to re-enter.

I also use mine if running my compressor whilst stationary, just set the revs to about 1200rpm. Using it as I described when driving is a skill that needs practice, I've only done it a couple of times set at 2000rpm & 'made adjustments'with the clutch.

Yeah I've never used it for steady hill climbing. Maybe I should one day.

I may get an opportunity to give it another try in a few weeks time when we take on the Munja track with tvan in tow. :) I'm told there are a number of 1st low long steep & rocky jump ups . I reckon the e-locker might get a workout too.

RR heater is the heater for the rear seats. SLX model?

More for flat rocky sections , not hill climbing.
I used to jump out of my other 4x4 and direct
the "ghost" driver,, had others in the convoy scratching their heads.
Flat ground only. a must for any 4x4 IMO.

Ive beeen told the fan symble with RR is for third row seating heater fan

I've never heard of seat heaters in a GQ. Do you have air vents at the rear seats? I reckon it would be for that fan.

The vent is at the back of the center console chest. There should be some temp controls there too. The vents are aimed at the second row passengers feet ;)

@Winnie maybe being an OS model it was better speced than their Aussie counter parts

Thanks team, haven't got them working but you're right, vents and some controls for 2nd row passenger feet!

If you don't use it, atleast you now have a spare accessory switch spot you can repurpose... :)
