Does anyone have an old GQ wiring loom that they are happy to cut a plug off for me? I am after the plug and small length of wire that mates with the GQ dash clock. The unit I purchased recently lasted 1 week, then intermittently comes on and off as it pleases. I have bought another one, however want to have the clock on all the time, not just when I am driving - handy when camping etc.

If you'd like to put up a clear pic of the plug, I have a complete GU loom that I've cut many plugs from and kept in a drawer. It's possible that Nissan didn't redesign all their plugs when they changed models..
Why do you need a new plug? can't you just cut the positive at the current plug and rewire a constant power supply from somewhere else?
Am I missing something?
I am unsure if the issue with the existing clock is with the clock or the wiring loom. Access to the plug to test is a PIA to be honest, need 2ft long arms with 17 joints and 1cm dia to get to it, hence I was going to remove the existing clock and rewire the replacement in its place. Here is a good pic of a clock with the plug attached, its a 4 wire plug, with earth, 12v power, acc power and a dimmer circuit. Thanks for the help John
Second photo shows the plug, they are sort of mini male connectors in the clock and the plug is a female

Thanks Chris, will sort out my options if I cant get a plug - yet to call patrol a part. I guess I could try soldering the cabes direct to the pins then shrink tubing some insulation over the joints - another option.Quote:

How did you go finding a plug?
Crapped out, tried two Patrol Wreckers and they either didnt have a loom or were not prepared to chop one unless I paid for the entire loom, which is understandable. I found the plug a bit loose earlier this week and pushed it home, but the clock is still irratic at best, comes on when it feels like it. I have a replacement but really want it on all the time.Quote:

You sure it's the plug, not the clock playing up. Nearly all gq clocks fade away and need to be soldered internally.
Yeah, will do the fix when I get time, but I still want the clock on all the time and doing any wiring changesin the super small area is a pain so want a plug with tails so the mods can be done on the bench and simply installed.Quote:
